Brown and blue bowl on beige clay - braiding pattern
Brown and blue bowl on beige clay - braiding pattern
A regular and symmetrical pattern for a braiding effect, with small butterfly shapes at the intersections of the patterns . Pretty veins of gray clay appear and sing in the chorus of the beige clay in a natural way.
This bowl was wheel-thrown then stamped by hand, each pattern requires 9 applications of 4 or 5 different tools. This clay is a mixture of wild clay and sandstone fired at high temperature, a well-closed and impermeable clay. The darker clay veins come from the wild clay which expresses itself by making the piece more solid and giving it a little iron oxide (although ivory in color).
